Marilyn Manson is the first portrait in the line-up of My new series of celebrity pop art portraits titled Alters. The idea came about over the past few weeks while I was trying to figure out how to produce more paintings in a fraction of the time it normally takes Me to create a painting, which can be well over a month depending on the level of detail involved. At that rate it will take Me years to paint all the ideas I have in mind. I’ve always wanted to paint everybody who has inspired Me during my life up until this point, and there have been many people. The only way this could be possible was if I was to simplify my paintings to the barest minimum without losing any quality, and more importantly, have the portraits still recognisable. So, Marilyn Manson is My first victim and I must say, I am very happy with the final result.
