Artzy Art

Here is a painting I commissioned from Armando Huerta for the launch of My Artzy Art online art gallery in 2013.

The plan was to sign a licensing deal with Lady Gaga and sell fine art paintings and limited edition collectibles, like the resin statue that is pictured here in the first stages of production.

The statue was never completed because the sculptor got fed up with Armando and his requests to make never-ending corrections to the final sculpture before casting. This was another project that I dumped thousands of dollars (and countless hours of work) into that Armando screwed up for Me. It wasn’t his money that was being spent so it didn’t matter. I was the one who always came up with the business ideas, Armando promised to co-operate and then flaked every single time. A lot of the time he just stole My ideas and went off and tried to do it himself, and failed. Where do you think he learned how to run an art business? A Mexican with no money just doesn’t jump on a plane and flies to America, sets up an online business and begins publishing books, selling prints and exhibiting at trade shows. He acquired all of that knowledge from Me while he was living with Me rent-free. I paid for his airline ticket to America, rent, food, petrol, etc. …. and even cooked for him and washed his dirty clothes and underwear while managing a business. Meanwhile, he was breaching our contract and making plans behind My back. He constantly asked Me to do his paperwork for him so that he could get a Green Card but I knew that if I did, he’d take off the same day. I never fell for that one so he was left with no other option but to work illegally.

This business folding wasn’t entirely his fault though. I also got ripped off by a web designer I hired in Europe who took on the job not realizing that it was far beyond his technical abilities. I paid for the work but he never completed it. Story of My life. I’ve been dealing with liars on a daily basis for over 40 years now. No wonder I’m an expert human lie detector. I can smell bullshit from the other side of the world. Now that’s talent! … Oh, I nearly forgot about the sloth of an American ex-husband I married who promised to help Me out with the business but had his video game controller shoved so far up his ass he was unable to get up out of his chair.

If everything went as planned (which in my case, never does), all Artzy Art artists would have to go through a strict approval process, similar to the pin-up art business I ran in the US but on a much grander scale. No amateur art allowed which is what you will find on the majority of online galleries today. Their goal is to sign up anybody and everybody in order to make a quick buck. I’m about the promotion and sale of HIGH END fine art, managing only the best of the best. This painting is an example of the type of art that I would approve.
