80’s Flashbacks

I’m looking through some old photos and experiencing major 80’s flashbacks. Here’s a photo of Me taken in 1988 dressed as Madonna, with Billy Idol hair. I don’t know how that happened but it was the 80’s so I was confused, hence the decision to name My new pop art portrait series Alters. Peter Spilles from Project Pitchfork summed it up nicely when he said, “We are one (mirror split up into pieces)”. Aren’t we though? Every one of us is a combination of different personalities at one time or another so essentially we all suffer from “multiple personality disorder”. It doesn’t mean that we’re insane, it just means that we all go through different stages in our life on the path to figuring out who we ultimately are.

So, who is My next pop art painting going to be a tribute to? Madonna or Billy Idol? Billy Idol used to be one of My nicknames, for obvious reasons, so maybe it’s time to immortalise Billy? Stay tuned!
